Sure the artic may have been nearly empty........but certainly not in the peak direction & time of day. The complainers likely are those who never ride a bus. Finally they may not know that artics also operate in other parts of Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx. |

Now it is just whining. Schedule adjustments are coming to the Q10 on Sunday to ensure better loading (runs on the Q10 will be reduced as the route is going all-articulated); about 30 buses from the 5510-5769 batch are headed for MTA Bus...with the 1999 D60HFs returning to NYC Transit service. Transferred to MTA Bus already are 5514-5, 5558, 5568, 5603-4, and 5649. |

Or because there is no realistic way in hell that the Q10 can be run as an all-articulated route with 15-year old artics. In the Bronx, these buses can remain for weekday use only. (JFK had not been using artics on weekends.) Today is the last weekday that the Q10 will be run with rigids. |

Same complaint was made about the B44 articulated buses in Brooklyn this past week. Residents said "this isn't 2nd Avenue in Manhattan; we don't need the extra-long articulated buses taking up extra parking spaces." Shorter buses have the added benefit of more frequent headways to cover the same passenger load. |

Shorter buses means more salary and benefits with more bus operators needed.IMO the ones who hate them are the ones who never ride a bus. |
