New NICE bus deployments |

Posted by R62CNG on Fri Jul 19 08:48:36 2013 Is there any info into when NICE is going to replace all the remaining 2000 Orion V CNGs? |

That is the big question. Now that MTA is no longer subsidizing the system and providing the buses, will Nassau County finally pay its part to buy new buses? Nassau did not want to pay the MTA costs, so now they are stuck paying for the entire system. We shall see. |

I know that technically, the Orion VII 3G CNGs were MTA's buses, but didn't Veolia chipped in for those too? Also, I heard that in the coming years Veolia will:-purchase 40 CNG 40Fters in 2013-2014 -purchase 70 CNG 40 Fters in 2015-2016 -purchase 171 CNG 40 Fters in 2018-2019. What the hell are those 171 buses going to replace? It can't be the NG CNGs, those buses will only be 9-10 years old by then. Is NICE planning a fleet expansion or perhaps a new depot? |

They are paid by Nassau County to operate the bus service.Nassau County must provide the equipment. |

I guess they are for both replacement and fleet expansion. MTA LIBus never gotten that many buses at one time in years. |

It is said to be on NICE's webpage somewhere. I know that the 171 order is infact correct as is the 70 bus order. The 40 bus order I'm not too sure about. |

That I can see based on the size of the Nassau Co. system and the number of new buses they already have. His numbers would have them replacing buses that would be less than 10 years old. |
