Excellent shots of the buses rolling along 42nd Street, and with great usage with the background surroundings of the city itself...AAAA++++!!!!-William A. Padron ["MaBSTOA"] |

Unfortunately, I won't be able to take part in the vintage runs, once again! I hope you enjoyed 2969, as much as I did, back in 2010, when it ran in the Bronx! Nice to see 8466 looking good, as well! Thanks for the pics! |

I was living it up on the Bronx buses then.2969 did the 8:30 pull out but when leaving the Eastside, it developed trouble. It stayed there until nearly 11:15am, then deadheaded to the depot. It later came out about 12:30 or so. joe |

Maybe they still ran from the Junction where I didn't see them?I do remember there were Macks on the B12 because they made a different sound. I also remember buses that had narrow windows on the back, but they were unevenly split widths. I haven't seen any pictures of these anywhere. Is there a database of pics of buses like we have of the subway cars? |

Yes the Macks did sound totally different as the had their own Mack Diesels [ END 673, IIRC] as opposed to the Detroit Diesel 6-71's in the Old look GM's. |

Fresh Pond's Old Look GM's in the 7000 and 9000 series were retired in early 1973 when the New Look 5309A's arrived, originally 6335-6349 for FP. I'm assuming the rest of the TA Old Looks were retired around that same time period as well. |
