I'd post some of my own, but you've pretty much summed up the fleet! ;-)The "main" routes use two types of buses: Nova RTS and New Flyer D60LF. The Novas are a mix of transit and suburban style seats (all soft-seaters) and the New Flyers all have padded transit-style seats. A few of the Novas (1054, 1055 [?], 1575 and 1576) are albinos (no markings on them). Years ago, I do believe they used suburban Metro B's and secondhand RTS's and Neoplan artics. Maybe someone can shed more light on the past Rutgers fleets...? The New BrunsQuick aka 5th and 6th Ward Shuttle uses them little mini-vanny-bussy things. Don't know much about those, since I don't consider them to be "real" buses, lol. |

Oh, I should also add... every once in a blue moon (input from others indicates it's usually in the first week of semesters), there'll be a stray Academy D4000 (Jersey Cruiser II) on one of the routes. On the first couple of days of this semester, there was one on the F route... not fun. There is also another route that is not quite as widely known about... the Menlo Park Mall Shuttle. This route runs on Friday and Saturday evenings about every 30-60 minutes, connecting Busch Campus Center and Brower Commons with Menlo Park Mall. This route uses Academy coaches exclusively (usually a D4000 with the signs set to "Rutgers The State University"). I used it this past Saturday and it seemed to be pretty well patronized. |

I think it was MAN artics, and they probably were retired when Suburban Trails lost the contract and Academy got it. (Except for 1027-1035 and 1575-1576 and 4190, Academy owns all of the buses.) |
