The first bus for this order is 185, how come all 230 suddenly is the first bus according to this post and 185 in another website ?Besides, how did MTA-BUS manage to get C40LFs and not the C40LFRs? The MTA had to start at 185 instead of 101 because we still have Orion 5s (ex-Bee Line) numbered 101-184. 185-319 = 135 buses. 4. NYCB will get 90 buses whereas MTAB will get 45. |

The C40LFs are already showing rot in them, and the O5 CNGs (ex-PBL) have never been rehabbed. Based on tank certifiation, the C40LFs and O5 CNGs could technically go to 2018 based on their tanks (the O7 CNGs can go to 2022-2023), but the bodies on the C40LFs (800-900s) are going to go first.The new C40LFs have tanks certified for 25 years. |

Anecdotal evidence...look at the skins of buses 891 and 971 as examples. The frames are also made of carbon steel rather than stainless. |

Just because the body side panels are rusting does not mean the frame is rusting. I'm sure you know the side panels have nothing to do with the structural integrity of a bus. |
