It looks like the same seating configuration as to 1999/2000 New Flyer C40LF.Both of the doors glass edges are squared. The depot decal moves up to the roof line. There is grill on the engine cover, means no ads on that section? The decal scheme sucks. |

There is a lot of "LFR" features on this bus. No one else has been allowed to order them, as SEPTA and few other properties were told they were not available for order after December 2009.It has also come to light that a few properties that was told this are showing displease. While I commend New Flyer for trying to "bag" the MTA contract, they certainly pissed off a few other contractors with this order. Pablo ttmg |

I would imagine these new ones take off much faster and have much more power, people have posted that drivers have to be gentle with the gas pedal on the 1700s (Which have the same powertrain) cause there's so much power in those things. B/Os @ Gleason floor the gas pedal on the DD C40LF regularly, if you do that in a ISL C40 it won't too pleasant for the passengers lol. |

Very nice looking bus, in a perfect world the MTA would only order the old face C40 for Gleason and the other depots would get the LFRs.. but what can you do, looking forward to seeing these buses on the B8, 11, 68 and 103. There's always the slight hope that the other order for 75? CNGs will be LFRs.. then again I doubt it, probaly will be Orions, plus side of that is buffs won't have to go to LI just ride a NG CNG... I can't imagine the ride being that much different between the NG and the 3G.. |
