I have a few questions regarding this bus......It does show up on the production lists as a T8H-5307A. This would mean that the bus originally had an a/c unit on the back. Did GM do away with the A or N designation or was the a/c unit removed? Also this bus is shown as a transit, not suburban bus. Where'd the rear door go ? |

It looks like the AC unit was removed, there's a metal bar running across the top rear. What I also notice is that it has regular passenger license plates rather than bus or commercial plates. |

I just saw this bus over by Grand Central Terminal as part of the Earth Day activities going on there. I snuck a pic of the builder's plate, which identifies the bus as model T8H5307A, Coach number 2525. The license plate number matches that of the bus in the pictures in this thread, so it is assumed to be the same vehicle. |

GGT ordered transit buses with high back seats and pedestals. Thats why they are 102 inches wide. This bus was AC from the factory. The guys from BioBus removed the cover, fan and condensor and added a garden. Many people believe the GGT buses were suburbans but look at the builders plate, they were clearly built as transit with options for the suburban interiors. GGT ordered many buses this way. |

Where'd the rear door go ?GM built lots of "transit" buses in suburban configuration. The 1980s NYBS fishbowls were also transit buses with high-back seats and no rear door. IINM, the real difference is in the structure of the bus itself, as well as the presence of underfloor luggage compartments. |

Oh, there's a note on the page I linked previously.(5) Coaches were listed as T8H5307A however did not have air conditioning installed at factory but had the condensor cover and compartments for A/C installed. No mechanical equipment for A/C was installed at delivery. |
