This is the suffix that stands for the actual agency operating a particular bus, as Sound Transit is jointly operated by King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. In this case, K means King County Metro. There is also a -P suffix for Pierce Transit and -C suffix for Community Transit (Snohomish County). |

Odd you said that because that's exactly how Houston METRO does that - meaning - a letter stands for the garage (or Bus Operating Facility=>BOF) the bus was run out of.We have six total BOFs: K - Kashmere P - Polk H - Hiram Clarke W - West F - Fallbrook N - Northwest (this particular garage has buses that are operated by First Transit - NOT METRO - employees). First Transit also operates our METROLift fleet. |

After completing a round trip of 522, it returns to 545 again. I caught 545 one on 6th Ave S near King County Metro's Central Base and 522 one on 3rd Ave and James Street. |

Question,I been noticing that all Operating bus companies in the Greater Seattle area wear that dark gray badge in the front. What is the purpose of that,is it like the railroad to help identify the bus? |

Just a little bit off-topic, I'd like to know what neighborhood (and the demographics) are these BOF's situated. Also, are the Kashmere and Hiram Clarke Transit Centers adjacent to the namesake BOF's? Thanks! |

Yes, it is latter...545 has more trips in the peak hour. Some buses running on 545 in that period will return to the base while some will change to other routes like 522. When the afternoon peak hour begins, those buses on other routes will return to 545 trips. |

I think it's reflecting the green from the traffic light"from: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47139810@N08/5498321529/ |

I haven't forgotten about your request. What I can tell you is that the Kashmere TC is in the same area (just not that close by) as the Kashmere BOF.I'll (later on) post the addresses of the BOFs and give you a URL that lists the TCs we have. |
