Whatever happened with depot logos at NJT? |

Posted by RiverLINE3501 on Sun Dec 13 10:54:29 2009 Back in the late 80's and 90's, NJT had depot logos similar to the ones at MTA. They were prevalent on the North Jersey buses [but rare on the Southern Division], and they had the same quality design as the MTA ones.In recent years, these depot stickers have disappeared from the buses, with new Neoplan, NABI and MCI buses and rehabbed RTS and repainted Flxibles not displaying the stickers. What happened to the stickers? Does anyone have a photograph of each depot sticker [if any] hanging around? |

There are certain facilities with dedicated equipment that have logos on them in the Northern Division, namely Fairview, Meadowlands and Wayne Township - most of the MCI's, remaining Flex models and Neoplans (Fairview) have the decals on them... |

I never really got a good look at most of the garage logos. I know Orange has an orange colored logo of some kind. Market Street I think is blue with the falls; Wayne is red with something on it...On that Fairview sticker though... looks more like the Oakland Bay Bridge rather than the GWB lol! |

Orange's logo, IIRC, was simply an orange with the phrase "Team Orange" written underneath.Mercer/Hamilton's logo was an outline of the State House with "Capitol Connection" written underneath. I recall seeing a Washington Township logo on an MC-9A years ago; the logo, IIRC, showed an MCI and trees. I don't think I've ever seen logos for Newton Avenue or Egg Harbor. |

If someone in Meadowlands could get into the repair bay....there's a pic of the old Madison Avenue depot logo on one of the tables inside. I know Howell has their depot logo on one of the 8200's. I think it's 8202 if I remember. I seen the Hilton logo on one or two of the Nova B's when I was taking the 70 to Maplewood a while back. If I get a chance, I'll see if I can find one of those buses and take a pic of their depot logo and put it on here. |

I actually have a complete set, even for garages that no longer exist. We had them in South Jersey too. Every garage had a logo.I really don't know why they stopped using them. But it makes it easier to shift buses around from garage to garage when needed. |
