FULL OBITUARY: James H. Mancuso

PERRY -- James H. Mancuso, 55, died at home after a brief illness sometime during Oct. 10-13, 2009.

He was born Dec. 19, 1953, in Rochester and grew up at Silver Lake. He lived in his Main Street apartment for the past 25 years. He made Perry his home and cared greatly for the community, writing frequent letters to the editor to The Daily News and other publications on ways to improve life for Perry residents.

James (Jim) was a member of the Perry Main Street Association and its Silver Lake Trail Committee. He was a social member of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department. He helped with their fundraisers and advocated their need for new and better equipment. He was a lifelong rail fan and friend of local engineers. Jim compiled and self published several booklets on the history of the railroads that he loved. He also enjoyed bowling and big band music.

He is survived by his father, Anthony (Debbie) Mancuso of Mount Morris; his mother, Betty Loew of Northfield, Ohio; his brother, David (Kathy) Mancuso of Silver Springs, a sister, Christine (Mancuso) Myers of Silver Lake; aunts Frances Matthews of Silver Lake, Margaret Shepard of Castile, Uncle Thomas (Patti) Matthews of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and several half sisters, half brothers, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 7:30 tonight at Perry First United Methodist Church in Perry. A memorial service will follow at 7:30. Personal messages may be left at eatonwatsonfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the Perry Volunteer Fire Department.

He also wrote a book about GM this year.

That's a review. Maryann Keller wrote the book.

He has written a couple of self-published books on the history of upstate transit operators, and he was recently working on a history of New England operators.

^^^^ bump

Can anyone confirm that this is the guy being discussed?

Perhaps a good dose of Oklahoma City is what the Financial district needs. The price gouging has to be stopped one way or another, by the use of force, if necessary.

You seem to have trouble following a thread. I clearly replied to you when only the short death notice had been posted, and not the full obituary. And as I clearly stated at the time, the short death notice said no such thing.
