Recent MNYBA Trip to Buffalo, NY |

Posted by Sid from NJ on Fri Aug 21 10:58:33 2009 The Metropolitan New York Bus Association ran its annual four-day trip last weekend to Buffalo. Stops made included Binghamton, Ithaca, Buffalo and Rochester, NY; Windsor, Ontario; and Detroit, Michigan. Below you will find several photos that I took on the trip. I have put together an online photo album of photos representing many I had taken. I have tried to provide a variety within the fleets we encountered but did not necessarily catch all the varieties the operators had. Sure appreciate that. Bus looks like it is ready for revenue service again. Too bad NFTA didn't hang onto more of these buses. They would be an improvement over some of the junk they have plying the streets, especially those rolling turds called Nova LFMs. |

The Rear doors on their "fishbowls" were controlled by the driver and each door was a two piece folding unit while most Cleveland area suburban operators went for single door "muzzle loader" type buses of the same models. |

The other fishbowl in my album had been in service until a month or two back [What type of bus did you ride for the trip ?] We chartered an MCI from Coach Tours. I believe there is a photo of it in my album. For the Buffalo to Windsor portion of the trip, we had a Coach Canada (Trentway-Wager) MCI. |

MNYBA goes a different place every year for their 4-day trip. The last few I've been on were Boston/Maine (2002) and Ottawa/Montreal (2003). Other past trips included Pittsburgh/Ohio and the Greater Toronto Area. I don't believe they have a website yet, but who knows, they might have one soon. |

The most recent August trip sites are: 2008 - Boston, Portland and Seashore 2007 - Washington, DC, and Virginia 2006 - Pittsburgh 2005 - Toronto [Is there a website for next year ?] MNYBA does not have a website and probably will not set one up.
