Am I the only one who thinks that transit agencies are being incredibly wasteful when they buy these over-designed buses during an economic crisis? Especially in California, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Should we really be spending money right now on wheel skirts and other styling that adds nothing to the functional operation of a transit bus? |

If the goal is to attract people to leave their cars and use transit, these "stylish" buses might do the job. Larger agencies with a more transit dependent customer base such as LACMTA, MUNI, CTA, and NYS MTA really don't need these. |

People want reliable service that will take them from origin to destination quickly using clean buses. Stylish buses will not do the trick if it's the same old bus service dressed up in a pretty package. |
