Excellent photos! The 3678 White and 2527 (I think it's ACF-Brill but not sure) were in the Intercity and Manhattan Transit Lines here in Jersey back in the 50's and 60's.The CTA livery reminds me of Fifth Ave.Coach in NYC.If you have more pictures, please keep them coming.They make my day, Thanks!

Didn't those 1000 series GM Fishbowls knock out the trackless trolleys in Chicago?

Why didn't the CTA wait another 2 years and got replacements from Flyer like Dayton and San Francisco did?

It was a bus the City of Chicago made into a cheap mans custom coach to use to take VIP's to different functions.

Who knows, probably saving money on electricity and maintenance to the trolley wire. Also people pressuring politicians for bus replacement of trackless routes so that ugly overhead wire can be removed making their streets look nicer.

Probably both.
