Posted by lbt 9415 on Sun Jan 25 23:55:34 2009 These photos were taken by a good of mine and BusChat member 'moviebuses'.Heres Oakland Airport Bus # 8141...Ex SCRTD/LACMTA # 8592 ( 1981 GMC RTS T8J204 )       Next up is one of the newest additions to the Regional Transit Service Fleet, Ex-Greyhound # 7107 ( 1969 MCI MC-7 ). This bus was restored into its original scheme     Last but least, this is the brand new addition to the Regional Transit Fleet ... Ex-Foothill Transit # 1040 ( 1995 Gillig Phantom ) with DD50 & Allison B400R5 transmission       |

That MC-7 Hound is actually in its third scheme, not its original.This is the original:  This is the second:  The third scheme added the black window treatment, the filled-in roof glass, and the blue paint brought all the way to the front roof. |

If it doesnt make money then out it will go. Same for the MC-7. I was lucky enough to make a deal with a guy that bought a few of these Gilligs for scrap. This is the first auction for Foothill that they did not use a roller with black paint on it as the buses left the auction yard. The last auction a guy stood at the end of the gate and as the buses left he rolled black paint down the sides.The Footlhill Transit name will be removed in the next day or so, I left it on just for pictures. www.rts-regionaltransitservice.com |

Nice pics!I remember riding on those ex-SCRTD/LACMTA airport shuttle buses at both SFO and OAK. At first, I thought that they were ex-Hertz buses that had been refurbished (before I became a busfan) but then I realized that they were ex-SCRTD/LACMTA because of the fact that they were 40-foot in length and had those unique A/C grills. Nevertheless, it appears that they completely refurbished the bus interiors as there is nothing inside that appears to be original (even the dashboard was repainted). I like that picture of all of the buses in front of PETCO Park in San Diego. Finally, the Foothill Transit bus looks great! |

I seem to remember them saying "Super7Scenicruiser", with a large "7" and the "Super" and "scenicruiser" on either side. Or something like that. |
