New Bronx Bus Map |
|
Posted by RedbirdR33 on Thu Aug 7 21:28:51 2008 I stopped by the Transit Center on Stone Street today and picked up a copy of the Bronx Bus Map dated July 2008. It has a bullet on the front about the new Bx 12 Select Bus Service. Also of interest is that for the first time it includes the express bus routes of the MTA Bus Company, the routes fromerly operated by New York Bus Service and Liberty Lines Express. I can only imagine what the new Queens Bus Map will look like with all of their express routes.Larry, RedbirdR33 |

I caught a few but how many screw ups did they do on that map.I'm more interested with the Queens Bus Map. I want to see how accurate they are with all the express buses. |

ON July 15,2008, I was glad to see the new map available in the Take One box on Select Bus Bx12. However, when I visited the Transit Museum at Grand Central Terminal, only 2006 was there! More often than not, I have found the MTA distributing out-of-date maps. |

The QM1A,2/A,10/11 are going to make that map look at a mess.the list of errors I've found so far on the BX map 1. The bx10 doesn't run 1 way down Bailey Av, neither does the Bx7 on Riverdale Av. then on the Bx8 there should be one arrows in edgewater pk with the Bxm9's arrows but there arent any 2. There is no Bx4A/Bx4B (the express bus box in the lowr righthand corner) 3. They put the Bxm3 and 4B super express runs but not the BXM11 ones from Gun Hill. 4. This may have changed but last time I checked the Bxm7 ran through Bellamy Loop S/B 5. As of the maps creation the Bxm1 doesn't run on Nagle/10th AV, the non-Inwood runs as shown run on the Triboro and Deegan 6. The Bxm10 according to the map doesn't stop at E 180 st because it's still running EXP 7. Someone correct me on this, but I don't believe the Bxm3's N/B terminal should be visible 8. this is in manhattan but seeing as how the (3) runs late nights as of July why is the shuttle bus still there? 9. Nowhere on the map or mapnotes is it mentioned that most of the express routes have short turns in the Bx. 10. Apparently, the Bxm11 S/B runs express down the Bronx River then makes stops on the Sheridan Expwy from E177st to Westchester Av. 11. The Bxm3 seems to run on a non-existant street between Sedgwick and the Deegan 12* This wasn't something I was expecting to be put on the map even if short turns were depicted on the map or mentioned in the map notes. I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but I have seen it occur uncommonly. 1- 2 of the PM weekday Bxm3's end randomly at 261 and Bway and its nt on the schedule. And usually when the Riverdale-261st bus shows up, theres a Yonkers-Getty Sq bus literally right behind it. That used to happen during LLE but both would go to Yonkers. |
