This one looks as though it may be very old...it still has the old style POLICE lettering leading me to believe that this may be its third paint scheme. |

Mobile Command Post vehicle, belongs to NYPD Communications Division. Circa 1996. The chassis for this one is a Thomas bus, but it is outfitted by LDV. Newer units are built on Freightliner chassis, but since they don't see daily use, they last a long time. There are similar units assigned to each patrol boro.My information may be out of date, I haven't really kept up with NYPD stuff since 2005. |

The NYPD also has a number of Command Centers on Blue-Bird chasses, that appear to be 40 feet long. IINM, this may have been outfitted by Matthews Specialty. |
