The counties of Salem, Cumberland, and much of Atlantic and Cape May are very rural and the lifestyle is a stark contrast to the stereotype of NJ residents. The twang is quite noticable, it's almost like you're in the Southern part of the USA. When you get into the more urbanized counties across from Philly, the people tens to speak like Philadelphians since many trace their roots to the city.

Mercer county is a mix of Philly and NYC area people since it resides in an zone that overlaps the Philly and NYC Metro areas. North of Mercer County, it is aligned with NYC and the vocal inflections are clearly NYC.
