IAWTP. I rode the AMGs that SCRTD had from the time they were brand new in early 1978 until about the mid-80s, when they were starting to be phased out. Hated them. There was this 3-4 second delay for the rear door interlock to clear, I can remember at least one occasion when the bus missed the light due to this. They do have the distinction of being the first handicap-accessible buses in L. A., though the lifts seldom, if ever worked. (The same was true of the 1980 Grummans, so the first real accessible buses were the 1981 RTS-04s.
