This route is packed even though the stops are about as far apart as can be. You certainly can't say it doesn't attract riders. What's key is that it stops in the right places, and perhaps secondarily that it provides for an extra free transfer in certain cases.But that's also because there is no competition from the subway. (I don't think the SIRT competes to the same degree.) Without a practical alternative the S79 is the only game in town for a huge stretch of SI. |
