The private lines were also under the oversight of the state Public Service Commission which unfortunately, has not been the case with the NYCTS since the creation of the NYCTA in 1953. OTOH when i was in Boston in the 1970s, I was told that the T still had to answer to the state Public Utilities Commission. As I mentioned in another post, maybe it’s time to place the NYCTS back under PSC jurisdiction. |
