If you reroute the Q8 to replace the B84 instead of using Fountain to get to the Gateway Mall, then are you proposing to have it run via New Lots to Ashford to serve the subway there? That, plus the routing through Ashford itself, would add noticeable running time to the trip to Gateway, particular for riders from Queens. I'm not sure that's worth doing just to make one bus route superfluous.
