MCI will be making versions of the new D45 CRT LE in 40- and 45-foot form without the low-entry vestibule (conventional side-body wheelchair lift as the current coaches have). The D40/D45 CRT are expected to be direct replacements for the D4000/D4500 Commuter - MCI wants to finally end the current D-series, although the inmate version of the D4000 may remain if demand requires.
