The Alexander Dennis Enviro500 for North America (shown in the rendering) is 13' 6" - it will not fit in any Manhattan-bound tunnel. The Van Hool TD925 used by MegaBus and the newer TDX are 13' 1.0625" and automatically lower to 13' based on GPS to get through the Lincoln Tunnel.If they're getting the Dennis, the only way it's getting to Manhattan from SI is the Verrazano, BQE, and one of the lower Manhattan bridges. |
