That's the suburban-sprawl mentality. Can't move or take a job somewhere without the services you need, then demand those services when they weren't previously supplied or necessary. Yes, a large number of businesses moved to JC from lower Manhattan after 9/11 for various reasons, but transportation to work is not their problem or concern. As far as commuter bus services, no carrier is going to start a route if they can't make money on it. It's not just about number of passengers and fare collected - a company has to cover cost of buses, maintenance, insurance, labor and benefits to drivers and mechanics, and other costs of doing business. If a rush-hour route from SI to JC can't cover all that, it's never going to happen.
