Septa's Customer Service has advised me that The Proterras will be delivered to the Southern District some time in 2018.Here are the answers for 2 of the 4 questions I asked them. Septa's responses are in italics. 1.Is there a GOH program scheduled for the trackless? They are almost 9 years old. There is a plan for a prototype of a New Flyer Trackless Trolley model in the Fiscal Year 2018-2029 Vehicle Overhaul Program. However details are limited and we will be getting some more information about this for you. You may be interested to learn that a Substations and Power Improvement Program is slated to begin 2018 through 2021. This plan includes an overhaul substations which serve the Route 75 and Route 59 trackless trolleys. 2.Are there plans to eventually replace the trackless fleet with Proterras? Again, we will get more details with regards to the plans for the prototype previously mentioned. South Philadelphia is still waiting for the Proterras for the 29 & 79. The Proterra fleet is scheduled for delivery sometime in 2018 to the Southern District. |
