I say let them accuse.Light turns green. . .pull up to crosswalk threshold prepared to yield. If at that precise point, pedestrians are in the crosswalk in such a way that you would interfere with their crossing, wait. If not, go. If pedestrians are angry that you did not wait back at the stop bar, their problem. If pedestrians are angry that you went through their crosswalk while they were still on the curb, their problem. Pedestrians do have the right of way, but they don't deserve to stop traffic while they decide if/when they will exercise it. |
