Even if statistics show that in general there are more accidents when left turns are made as compared to right turns, it still does not mean you jump to a conclusion to ban 26 additional left turns in addition to the ones already banned without considering any other ramifications. But that is exactly what DOT did before doing traffic counts which showed 20 of those 26 turns shoukd not be banned.If they didn't come up with a list of intersections before taking traffic counts, how would they know where to take traffic counts? |
