The bus loop just inside the city limits at Katonah Avenue, Van Cortlandt Park East and East 242nd Street was constructed sometime after 1951, if one looks at the aerial photos on http://gis.nyc.gov/doitt/nycitymap/--- It is currently used by Bx31, Bx34, and BxM4. I presume that in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's the intersection there was wide enough for buses to turn in the street. |
