Sunday, 06/22/14, was the day we had been waiting for, The Friends of Phila. Trolleys had their TT tour.
We gathered at the end of the Trackless yard near Penn St. and by 10:30, our operator, Leon and Ken, a supervisor appeared so we loaded up the coach,, #817. Septa did a nice job getting 817 ready for us, it was clean , inside and out with tire shine on the outside tires.
We left at 11:05 and toured the 59 first, by using the pullout route from FTC to Arrott. The northbound trip was cut at the Alma loop, we turned at Bleigh St., the switch worked and parked the coach on the pad for a good shot with the correct signs. We continued north to Belts Corner loop , CASTOR-BUSTLETON, Our operator had to do some reverse move out of the ALMA loop off wire to get us going north. We then covered the southbound 59 and changed routes at Arrott TC.

We covered the 75 Route next to Wayne Junction, and on the way back we went off wire to stop at The Berridge Shops where we shot a group photo in front of Historic Flxible bus #6569, which looks fabulous.

We finished up the eastbound 75 then proceeded to FTC for another rare shot, the coach was staged under wires never used at FTC at the bus loading stands, where the 14 loads. Some great photo ops then then a trip up the busway ,which is wired up but never used by the 66 trackless which goes different way. We ran on the express
wires of the 66 and did the Cottman cut back, went off wire to reverse and continue northbound where we used the Gregg St. cutback. At Gregg we went briefly off wire to continue north to City Line, FRANKFORD-KNIGHTS, After a brief stop there we covered the southbound 66 and finished a great trip at FTC.

Our operator was excellent and gave us a great tour, and we were surprised how many switches worked when we used them. A wonderful time was had by all.

Photos to follow in my next post.
