Sept. 11, 1966The department begins providing air conditioned bus service with the 682 vehicle fleet of Grumman 8000 series buses. (The system's first air conditioned bus was a demonstration bus, a 1959 General Motors, bus no. 100.) Grumman owned Flxible for only 5 years (1978-1982). Referring to 1966 Flxibles as Grummans shows a clear lack of understanding of the industry, and thus reduces credibility. |
