You are at Park Avenue and E 91 Street and you need an east west bus route. You are five blocks away from the 86 Street crosstown and also five blocks from the 96 Street crosstown. Since there are no longer stops at Park Avenue, you have to walk extra to either Lexington or Madison.The subway standard has nothing to do with the discussion and it does not apply at transfer points. The half mile is for the origin point and the destination point. You are not expected to walk additional distances at a transfer point which should be at the same intersection or one small block away where one way streets make a transfer at the same corner not practical. |
