This sounds very interesting. I wish I had seen this test bus in operation. Are there even pictures of it? Of course, the nay sayers will have something to talk about, given the disappointment in the hybrid experience, but this is a different thing altogether. Isn't it more like a trolley bus with batteries instead of overhead wires? We know that trolley bus systems have worked for decades, and continue to be effective in many cities world-wide to this day. Unfortunately for NYC, the Brooklyn system got dismantled around 1960 just a few years after the PCCs disappeared. "Progress" is often so much more political than intelligent. But that's another topic. |
