The underside on buses aren't "protected" for many reasons. These include (but not limited to) to prevent trapping of water and salt, easy access to mechanical and structure components, and risk of components falling from underneath the vehicle. The Orion VII underframe does not use any type of corrosion protection due to the stainless steel frame. It is also due to the fact that the manufacturer of the plywood floor does not recommend applying any type of coating to it. |
