Hound - you're absolutely right about 401-403 being 3501s. I was referring to the small fleet that preceded them - 361-363. The replacements for that fleet were 401-403.

About the 3501s - I believe they were diesel and automatic. But you would be the one to verify that as you actually drove them.

Seems like the 3501s didn't last very long. Do you know if they were sold off or just scrapped? I have a vague memory of a blue and white painted school bus sometimes filling in for one of them. So I wonder if they had reliability issues. Or - maybe it was just capacity.
