I'M NOT A BIG BUSCHAT CONTRIBUTER, SO, FORGIVE ANY MISTAKES OR ERRORS IN THE DISCRIPTION OF THESE OMNIBUSES.

I RODE THIS TYPE OF BUS FROM 1954 THROUGH 1962 ON THE Q-7 OF THE GREEN BUS LINE.
The bus line had an older type, with a manual transmission, as a back up when a shortage occurred due to out of service buses.
On a snow day our regular diver, John, fought that rebellious bus along Rockaway Blvd. to the "A" train station at Liberty Ave and Rockaway Blvd.
The gears were grinding at every stop, but John persisted and delivered a cheering load of passengers every time he got it going.
I'll search for a photo of that type , but not riding it very often, my memory may by incorrect.
