Unlikely, as there are already two alternates that provide a one-seat ride that cross the route, and one of those parallels it significantly. The 54 exists only for students. Take a look at it in summer. The people who must take a bus to get to the mall don't live along the route, except the Todt Hill Houses, which are 1/3 of a mile from Victory Blvd with the much more frequent 61.If not for the Wagner HS, the 54 would have ceased to exist a decade ago, just like the 55 and 56. I'm surprised that any of these routes even operate outside the peak school travel times. |
