Re: the first pic, that combo (Aerotech passenger compartment mated w/ Ford E-450 Super Duty diesel chassis) is the standard vehicle of choice here in Broward County for the Community Bus Services. (the way that works, most cities in Broward County run community routes using mostly cutaways that supplement the fixed route service provided by BCt. In the past, the cities ran the whole deal, buying buses, setting routes, running the routes etc., but in recent years, BCt has taken over the management functions (even buying the buses, so the buses now have county license tags, where they used to have city tags). I think the cities actually provide the drivers (either in-house or via a contractor). A couple of cities have different buses (one city in the northern part of the county has Goshens (I think), while the city of Miramar a few years ago purchased a couple of BlueBird CS. After one burned to a crisp, they went back to Aerotechs for their next order LOL (the surviving BB is still running). |
