You can thank your "friends" from General Motors {et al} for the demise of New Jersey's "All-Service Vehicles". Even though they never actually took over the Public Service operation, they had a big hand in influencing the decision to scrap the ASV's and replace them with GM buses. Money talks!

General Motors is now getting just what they deserve, finally! I have no sympathy for them. They destroyed many electric transit systems in this country, in the name of "greed"! But, it's slowly coming back from the ashes, now that the US auto industry and lobby is mortally wounded and unable to kill it. We're seeing a rebirth of light rail and street car systems in dozens of cities. I predict the clean, quiet, electric trolley coach will stage a big comeback too. It certainly is a "Green" form of transportation. With solar, wind or hydro power, it reduces our dependency on foreign sources of oil.
