Hopefully Millenium can come up with a more attractive RTS Extreme...it's the 21st Century, and that RTS-08 front is just hideous!If you're hoping for an RTS Extreme with a 1970's front, that's just not going to happen. As Evan outlined in his book, the RTS 08 redesign came about because the original RTS front door was not wide enough to allow wheelchairs to be boarded there. Any low-floor variation of the RTS must allow for a front-door ramp, so a version of the '08' front or even a new design will be required. As it is, the transit industry is moving away from the idea of boarding wheelchairs through the back door, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are few customers for new high-floor RTS's from Millennium with the classic front. |
