In the case of the Hound, it took two fatal accidents to get shields to be installed. It always takes the loss of life of a driver and/or customers and a lawsuit unfavorable to the carrier.As much as I hate to say it, I wonder if it will take an attack of a bus operator and loss of life of a customer in an ensuing crash as a direct result to make the MTA change its mind. This is what forced Greyhound's hand in 2002 (google the name Arutro Martinez Tapia). |
