The system is made by Sunrise Systems (sign) and Orbital (GPS system).

The "Route Scout" is actually used by quite a few transit agencies. Some that I can think of off the top of my head are LACMTA (by far the largest user), OCTA (lbt 9415 correct me on this if i'm wrong), SamTrans, Hertz, Avis, Hi-Tran, SEPTA, and possibly MUNI (they may be clever devices).

However, the voices are all different. Valley Metro used a radio announcer to produce all of the announcements rather than use a computer voice like the other transportation systems. They have female voices and male voices (LACMTA has a male voice).
