Wow that is quite surprising that they are actually going to get ANOTHER new color scheme! Here's my thoughts:

1. As you saw, the C40LFRs are getting delivered with the current scheme, and the 1998-1999 NABIs are still getting refurbished and repainted in the new scheme (albeit a different variation compared to the 2006-2007 rehabs, there is now only a single black band by the roofline, the number font is the same as on the old scheme, and the "Valley Metro" titles are in a slightly different font). However, I still consider it odd that they want to change their color scheme again considering about half the fleet is still in the old scheme and the new scheme is only two years old. The "Valley Metro Rail" logos use the current logo. As for both color schemes, the "Valley Metro" letters, the logo on the top side rear on the new colors, and the "V" are all decals. Already, Phoenix has taken the "V" off the windows thankfully.

2. When the 2006 scheme (green and white) came out, I expected that all buses would be repainted in the RAPID/Light Rail scheme (green and silver). I thought that color scheme looked pretty cool so I was surprised at how simple the 2006 scheme was. Nevertheless, whatever new scheme comes along, I REALLY hope they don't put ANYTHING on the windows (like a redesigned "V").

3. I really hope they keep the RPTA interior the way it is right now. I think that interior (white and blue) is really attractive. The Phoenix bus interior fabric is okay.

4. Any images on what this proposed livery may look like? It will be interesting to see that they will have three color schemes.

BTW, any word on the Mesa RAPID service (if it is even called that)? I know the buses are on order, but I haven't heard anything going on with that, especially with the issues they are having over there with cutting service.
